Due to the nature of our bespoke brass holders, heat convection works a little differently from glass. We've accounted for this in the burn profile. In the first half of the candleâs life, you may notice a small ring of unmelted wax around the edge. This is completely intentional. It helps moderate the flame and manage heat transfer through the brass. Once the candle reaches the halfway point, the increased warmth from the brass and internal airflow naturally melts the remaining wax, creating a full edge-to-edge melt pool for the rest of the burn. [Please always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface and allow the holder to cool before handling.] You may occasionally notice a green hue develop in your candles. Donât worry, itâs a completely natural part of using brass. While our holders are lacquered on the inside to help reduce direct contact, brass is a living material that responds to its environment. Exposure to air, moisture, and even time alone can encourage the development of a soft green hue, especially when paired with rich, complex fragrance blends. This gentle patina is part of brassâs charmâit doesnât affect the burn, scent, or quality of your candle. Instead, itâs a mark of character and evolution, making each vessel uniquely yours over time.
